A few local Greeks and a very active Americans philhellenes members of the Hellenic Society in Maine,organized so far a wide variety of events.

Hellenic Society of Maine, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide cultural programs of the highest quality to inspire and diverse the Portland community of Maine,as teens, and adults to explore, understand, and embrace today’s interconnected Greece.Hellenic Society of Maine next event is:”The Parthenon: Α Marvel through Ages ” with Miltiades Zacas

Undoubtedly a creation of art and a model of architecture, the Parthenon fully represents the multifaceted social, political and cultural development of the Golden Age of ancient Greece. The lecture will cover the high architectural and technical demands for the creation of this great monument, which remains as one of the most famous examples of Greek (and not only) architecture.
